The 18th Annual Morro Bay Winter Bird Festival of 2014, brings over 450 birders to one of the greatest bird sanctuaries in the United States every year in Morro Bay, California during Martin Luther King weekend.
They come to this globally important bird area to see, photograph and learn more about birds. Morro Bay is located halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco on the Pacific Flyway.
The area offers pristine beaches, beautiful state parks, an excellent natural history museum, panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and, best of all, thousands of birds. Over 200 species are usually sighted during the Festival weekend.
Next year's Winter Bird Festival will be held in January (to be announced). Over 100 individual events are featured, including pelagic cruises, boat rides and kayaking in the Bay, van trips throughout the county, as well as many informative workshops.
Registration begins October 2013. Those of you who have attended the Festival previously know that the events fill up fast, so be sure to make your reservations early and come join us!
